Nutritional Value
Cashews are wild!
Cashews grow with fruit on trees in hot countries such as India. They are not consumed by monkeys or many wildlife as they are poisonous until cooked or dried, monkeys will in fact only eat the fruit of the cashew tree. So when we purchase raw cashews, they will have been treated in some way to make them suitable for human consumption.
The reason why they are so expensive is because of the process of collecting, shelling and preparation. So when we eat cashews we should consider the process and give thanks, they are a rare and wonderful natural treat.
