Almond milk
Ingredients
1 & 1/2 cups raw almonds
4-5 cups filtered water - preferably fluoride free
Pinch of sea salt
Sweeten with vanilla extract, organic honey or cinnamon.
Utensils
You will need a cheesecloth or a fine sieve.
Method
Soak almonds overnight.
Strain off the water.
Add to a blender with water and blend until as smooth as possible - 5 minutes or longer depending on the strength of your blender.
You can use now if you prefer a thicker consistency.
Alternatively, run through a 2 cheese clothes over a bowl and squeeze all of the milk out.
Sweeten to taste as and when using.
Keep refrigerated up to one week.
Usage
For wheat free cereals, smoothies and to drink as and when.

Almonds are wild!
Almonds are native to the Middle East and South Asia. Grown on the Badam tree (Indian English, they are a relative of the peach and prune they are considered to be an an amazing nut. Pollinated by bees they can sometimes be expense due to the decline in bee population. When harvesting the almonds they are taken from the husk and laid out to dry until the shell becomes hard.
