Chapter 6 Excerpt - DNA of Hope - Out soon

The horizon is inside of you

It can be risky to grow new horizons anywhere, but especially if the horizon is inside of you. By default, new horizons must compete with old, established parameters. Parameters of thinking, and zones of comfort tend to zealously keep watch over anyone attempting to blaze new paths. But the one who finds courage to challenge the status quo, finds something rather interesting. Many people will suddenly appear, and be the underpinning of your new initiative - the initiative to change what needs changing. These are individuals who dare not be first in such a bold move, but are willing to be second in supporting your boldness. However, if you make timidity your home, you decay, and you decay alone.

It takes courage to stand up when millions around you are seated.

I will survive

It takes courage to stand up when millions around you are seated. It takes fire to tell your family and friends you are going to survive a sickness no one before you has. You will disturb relationships when you decide to change your living, eating and thinking habits, this is because others have made peace with the sweet fruit of mediocrity. You see, people generally don’t believe in your dreams until they at least experienced a belief in theirs. This has direct relevance to your health. When a person is sick, proper support requires more than just qualified health professionals. Proper support requires that everyone in your sphere of influence is of a certain mindset. The mindset of visionaries, dreams chasers, optimistic personalities who refuse to go away quietly in any area of their life. You need people who refuse to be refused. You need a team that not only accepts the pragmatics of your sickness, but holds greater to the surety of your full recovery. Support and hope can take on the oddest of forms, and be found in the most unlikely of places...

Who is your support team? Do you have a group of family and friends who
refuse to let you be less than what they know you can be? Think about Debbie,
think about that bridge, think about the limitless power of love and commit from
this day forward to stop operating alone. We all need help.
